Klopp: Liverpool are not thinking about a title race right now
Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp commented on the defeat in the match of the 18th round of the English Premier League with Burnley.
“Difficult match, not easy to explain the result. I am responsible for this – here is the simplest explanation. We had a lot of ball possession, created a few chances, but did not convert.
Wrong decisions were made at a certain point. We made three passes into the penalty area, tried to get the ball to one of our players, but failed. Put the guys in the right positions, make sure everything is fine, pin up – my job.
These guys are not one of those who, after a 7-0 victory, thinks that this will continue in the future. Today they worked hard, but the victory did not happen. If something does not work out, you need to try even harder, more often and longer. It wasn’t easy to lose today and we did it.
It’s not about blaming anyone. We must deal with this situation together and we will do it. At the moment, we are not thinking about the championship race,” Klopp quotes the BBC.
Liverpool are fourth in the Premier League table, six points behind leaders Manchester United.
